Dr. Amine Abouaomar is currently an assistant professor of computer science at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. Previously, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Polytechnique Montréal, Canada. Dr. Abouaomar received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Université of Sherbrooke (QC) Canada, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from ENSIAS, Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco in 2021. Dr. Abouaomar is an active IEEE member since 2017 and he is a technical chair program member of many international conferences. His research interests include beyond 5G networks, federated learning, and green machine learning.
Dr. Houda Chakiri is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the School of Science and Engineering. Dr Houda Chakiri received a PhD in Computer Science from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, a Master of Science in Computer Networks from Al Akhawayn University, and a Master of Science in Atomic Physics from Hassan II University. As founder and CEO of Enhanced Technologies, an IT company specialized in providing e-Government solutions, she spent more than 15 years overseeing various digitization projects. Dr. Chakiri is a Techwomen Program Fellow, 2012 cohort. As a board member of AfChix, an African NGO registered in Kenya, Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering affinity group in Morocco, and Vice-Chair of Arab Women in Computing, Morocco chapter, she has been advocating for gender diversity and inclusion in the STEM fields. Her research interests include digital transformation, process automation, change management, and process driven transformation.
Dr. Oumaima Hourrane is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at Al Akhawayn University. She specializes in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a focus on low-resource languages and deep learning. Dr. Hourrane earned her PhD in Computer Science from Hassan II University of Casablanca in 2022, where her research centered on semantic textual similarity and cross-lingual plagiarism detection using deep learning techniques. She has contributed to notable projects and holds multiple publications in international journals and conferences.
